Current Notice
Revised gold and silver hallmarking charges are effective from 14 September 2026 for articles submitted to BIS-recognised Assaying & Hallmarking Centres.
Rates
Revised Hallmarking Charges
Gold hallmarking is ₹75 plus applicable GST per article, with a minimum consignment charge of ₹200 plus applicable GST. Silver hallmarking remains ₹35 plus applicable GST per article, with a minimum consignment charge of ₹150 plus applicable GST.
HUID
Gold HUID Traceability
Gold articles are hallmarked with the BIS Standard Mark, purity or fineness mark and a unique six-digit alphanumeric HUID for verification through the BIS Care App.
Silver
Silver HUID Hallmarking
HUID-based hallmarking for silver has been introduced under revised IS 2112:2025 on a voluntary basis from 1 September 2025.
